Douglas County HRA owns 28 public housing located in various communities throughout Douglas County. The agency also owns 5 apartment buildings and 6 duplexes. Rental assistance is available by way of Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program, Bridges and Bridges-like programs. Various home improvement and business rehab programs are available as well.
The HRA Board of Commissioners is made up of five members, individually appointed by the five Douglas County Commissioners, and one member of the Resident Advisory Board (RAB). The county appointed Commissioners serve staggered five year terms with a maximum of two terms. The RAB board member is the Board Chair of the RAB board and is appointed at their annual elections.
The Douglas County HRA board meetings are held every 3rd Thursday of the month at 8:30 a.m. at their offices located at 1224 N. Nokomis NE in Alexandria, MN 56308
